Bridgerton: The Simpsons parody the series and the result is very very funny (PHOTO)

The Bridgerton madness has contaminated The Simpsons. The cult animated series created by Matt Groening parodied The Bridgerton Chronicle, to catch up on Netflix, and as always, the result is hilarious.

Born in 1989, The Simpsons is the longest-running American animated series in history, and has been renewed for a 34th season! After learning – with dismay – that Colin would be the next hero with Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicle and not Benedict like in the novels, we really needed to laugh. The Simpsons got it and made a hilarious reference to Netflix’s landmark series. What could be more appropriate than a nod from one family to another. In a clip promoting The Simpsons season 33 finale, titled “Poorhouse Rock,” the cult animated series parodies The Bridgerton Chronicleeven referring to the cult scene of the wet shirt, well known to fans of the adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The satirical family sitcom, available to stream on Disney+, has a habit of making fun of pop culture stars. This time, it’s up to Anthony Bridgerton and his siblings to pay the price. As often with The Simpsonsthe result is funny and stunning.

From Star Wars, Marvel, Star Trek, Hollywood… The Simpsons make fun of pop culture

It’s hard to miss the worldwide success of The Bridgerton Chronicle after the impact of season 2 of series produced by Shonda Rhimes. Evidenced by this parody of The Simpsons which has clearly identified that the historical romance, adapted from the novels of Julia Quinn, bet on the erotic potential of its male figures. The first season 1 had made Regé-Jean Page (Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings) a star. The second captivated fans with the passionate affair between Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and the dashing Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). Netflix therefore did not hesitate to titillate its subscribers with promotional images of Anthony emerging from a lake with his shirt soaked, leaving room for their imagination and that of the spectators who do everything but look away. An advertisement that gave ideas to the screenwriters of The Simpsons who have a habit of parodying the world of Pop culture.

After The Bridgerton Chroniclemake way for the Tunnelton, the “new series” of The Simpsons

In the season 33 finale, Marge and her Springfield girlfriends – Sarah Wiggum, Bernice Hibbert, Miss Hoover and Luann Van Houten – become addicted to streaming and especially to the historical series, The Tunneltons. In reality, these ladies are much more passionate about muscular heroes than intrigue. It is true that The Bridgerton Chronicle is one of those series that look at each other for “History” and not for the pretty face of Anthony Bridgerton… While Homer in the background listens to a Podcast on beer, Marge understands that it is very pleasant to watch the chocolate bars of these actors little hidden under their elegant costumes and mostly very… fitted, as seen in this picture.

If The Simpsons stars The Bridgerton Chronicle, the series is just a nod to the show, with the main plot featuring a golden-voiced janitor voiced by Hugh Jackman. The episode aired in the United States on May 22. While waiting to be able to discover it in France, the previous 32 seasons of The Simpsons are available on Disney+.
