  • Jack Quaid launches The Boys personalized Christmas sweater

Hughie Campbell actor Jack Quaid releases a personalized The Boys Christmas sweater inspired by Prime Video’s subversive superhero show.

Jack Quaid donned a festive boy-themed sweater for the holidays. Quaid has been a mainstay in the subversive superhero series since its Prime Video debut in 2019, playing the character of Hughie Campbell. Hughie is a civilian who joins The Boys (a vigilante group bent on taking down a corrupt group of superheroes known as The Seven) after his girlfriend is killed by A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) , a super drug addict and has the power of super-speed.

On the boys’ official Twitter account, they shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Quaid, in which the actor dons a sweater with a The Boys-inspired design (featuring Homelander’s signature eagle logo) with the question “Have you heard of Hughie on a Buoy, but what about Jack in a Jumper? In a follow-up tweet, they shared that the sweater was custom-made for the star, but they plan to recreate the design to potentially release it to the general public next year. What’s next for the boys in the new year?

While The Boys hasn’t aired since Season 3 ended last summer, 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for fans of the show. For one, they are currently filming Season 4, which was officially renewed last June, halfway through the new season. The season, which will feature a presidential run that’s unlikely to end well, will also see the return of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, a parody of Captain America who joined the show this year and was later revealed to have a more intimate connection to a pre-existing characters than previously imagined.

The first live-action spinoff of The Boys is also gearing up to launch in 2023, though it won’t be the first overarching series to spin off from The Boys. The franchise has already expanded beyond the mainline with animated anthology show The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which premiered its eight-episode Season 1 (featuring cameos from The Boys cast member Antony Starr , Dominique McElligott and Chace Crawford, among others) this past March. However, much more is on the horizon with The Boys: Gen V series.

The new The Boys spin-off will follow a new generation of young supers who are trained at the Vought International institution Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, loosely inspired by the X-Men parody group known as the G-Men, who were introduced in volume four of the original comic book series. They’ll be pitted against each other in a Hunger Games-style competition that’s sure to evoke some of the gory, bawdy fun of the original series. The Gen V cast will include Lizze Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Shelley Conn and Patrick Schwarzenegger with an officially confirmed cameo for Usher to appear as A-Train.
