Sébastien Thoen evokes his “journeys and misadventures” in “Chagrin d’humour”

The confessions of a PAF troublemaker. Sébastien Thoen has things to say and he does not intend to be silent. In his first (and last) book sorrow of humor published on November 2 by Harper Collins Editions, the 45-year-old talks about his career at Canal+ until his media ouster in 2020 after a parody of Time for the pros (NEWS). And, to bounce on the radio waves by RTL.

Originally, nothing predestined Sébastien Thoen to tell his story in 237 pages in his autobiography. During the launch party for his book, on November 15 in Paris, the comedian sets the tone for its genesis. “I was drunk”, he jokes immediately with Planet. “In reality, I meet Mathieu, the press officer of the publishing house and he always accompanies Paul El Kharrat (champion of 12 strokes of noon and resident of Big heads)”.

Write a book to go behind the scenes of the laughter industry

Over a drink, the quadra first confides (with humor) his desire to turn to literature. “We have a drink, he talks to me and I tell him about my travels and misadventures”. His goal ? “Write a book to go behind the scenes of the laughter industry”. With a simple joke, his idea seduces the publishing house and he recounts his memories on paper: meetings, hoaxes, clashes and anecdotes… Nothing is spared!

After arriving at Canal+ in 1996, Sébastien Thoen decides to do the 400 blows with his accomplice Julien Cazarre and his band in Stealth Action. From 2006 to 2009, they made several hidden cameras on television. He evolves as a columnist as The Big Newspaper and uses his sarcasm to tickle the guests. Appreciated by fans, hated by his detractors: the comedian unleashed without restraint.

His years as a presenter of the Journal du Hard

In September 2014, Sébastien Thoen raised the temperature on the channel encrypted with Hard Journal. In his book, the one who succeeded Philippe Vandel or even Clara Morgane there recounts his X years. “At the start everything is going well, the production takes me little time, I have a lot of fun, and the ethical dimension of the project does not prevent me from sleeping since I have managed to make my family circle that it was in fact the Journal du hard… rock. Nobody is fooled, but since I am not a porn actor, but only a porn presenter, everyone is happy”, writes the author in particular (sorrow of humor, Harper Collins Publishing18.90€).

Ousted from Canal +, he takes the “big head” on RTL

After having roamed the Parisian nights and rubbed shoulders with the hardcore scene for six years, the host and sports columnist of Channel Sports Club is licensed by the chain after a parody of Pro(no)s time on the Winamax channel. A dismissal arousing indignation within the Society of Journalists of Canal +.

In 2021, Sébastien Thoen joined Laurent Ruquier’s band from Big heads from RTL. “It’s a great professional meeting, Laurent is a motivating, generous, nice guy, quite simply”, confides the comedian in Paris here. Since last summer, he wakes up listeners every Thursday in the morning by Yves Calvi with its column without filter!
