“The complete works of Shakespeare in 90 minutes” inaugurates the L’Altro Teatro festival at Camploy

The review l’Altro Teatro starts again at Camploy with the great names of contemporary theater and dance at Camploy: Pennac, Celestini, Guanciale and many others who bring topical issues to the stage with a courageous program with high contents made of narration, literature , poetry, stand up comedy and dance for 14 unmissable shows.

The curtain rises on 23 November at 8.45 pm with “The complete works of Shakespeare in 90 minutes”, the great success among the best known in the world: a very original comedy which, after its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1987, it ran for nine years at the Criterion Theater in London. Great success in Verona in 2015, he returns to the stage with gentle disenchantment from a Khora Teatro and Teatro Menotti production in an amused and amusing homage to the great playwright, where parody and an irreverent grin enhance the evocative power of these timeless texts.

A fast, witty, physical show, suitable for all ages thanks to an ingenious parody of all of Shakespeare’s works performed in comically abbreviated form by three actors using the most varied interpretative techniques. A theatrical challenge to the limits of the incredible: how to condense Bardo’s work in 90 minutes? Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti, Fabrizio Checcacci and Roberto Andrioli, performers and directors in sneakers and wigs will take the audience into the Shakespearean world, in a light and extravagant immersion. The show is by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, translated by Andrea Buzzi, interpreted and directed by Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti, Fabrizio Checcacci and Roberto Andrioli, produced by Khora Teatro and Teatro Menotti, in collaboration with The sound machine.

«Have you ever thought about the fact that Romeo and Juliet starts with a fight? And we’ll show it to you» explains one of the directors and actor on stage Fabrizio Checcacci. «During the show we essentially laugh, – adds Checcacci – our intention was to treat Shakespeare in the popular way in which he was known at the time, in fact only later was the playwright treated as an elite author. By desecrating Shakesperare we show all our love towards who was the greatest of all and in his greatness was able to use a universal language capable of reaching anyone and this show is suitable for everyone from the oldest to the youngest”.

An opportunity not to be missed to immerse yourself in the greatness of the English playwright with light and immediate tones; for those who love William Shakespeare, for those who don’t know him that well, for students and for those who want to approach the great playwright.
