Mexico City, Monday, November 14, 2022.- Friends of Lord Molecula Oficial and of this great alliance between Televisión Olmeca, Notisur, RBC Internacional, Guau Televisión and the Énfasis Platform this week, at our customary analysis table of the Privilege of Mandar we had the participation of a luxury guest, a professor from the School of Journalism Carlos Septién García, with more than three decades in well-known television programs, on Televisa and Canal Once, as well as on radio and in print media, is Roberto Rondero.

Your valuable opinion is added to the always interesting comments and points of view of our permanent guests: José Luis Palacios, Saúl Santana and Alfredo Gutiérrez, dressing our table with their expertise on television issues, to share it with you who read us. Here the beginning of his comments:

“Speaking a little about this season, season three, of El Privilegio de Mandar”, it strikes me that it does not enter open television, that streaming went directly, to the platforms, I would have liked it to be on open television, because finally these are the times, political times always set the triggers for programs of this type, no.

And it had already happened in the first season, in the second, even in 2018, if we remember, it starts just when there is an interesting political opening and then it also closes when elections are coming and so on.

Now, in this case, what I always like is that there is a balance, I think that the first programs of El Privilegio de Mandar in the last season, the Four T was loaded a lot and certain characters were loaded a lot .

In this fifteenth chapter, I like that there is at least a greater balance of forces, I call it, of forces, we are no longer seeing just the classic characters of the Four T, those of this government, but also the counterpart , with one, now if opponents that border on this parody we found an opposition at this point, with a little time left for the elections we did not find a strong opposition in real life, but in the parody I liked seeing Claudio X. González, the people from the private initiative and the truth are very good, very nice, “Alito” is really identical, there is a very good job of characterization, makeup and, above all, I think they have given a little more flight to the part of the scripts, I liked that, no.

Of course, working for platforms, for streaming, has another connotation, there is another way of doing television, and if you notice, there are two ad units that lighten the load a bit of so much sketch, that also helps.

But in this chapter in particular I like that there is a greater balance and it is no longer just the classic characters.

In this regard, Saúl Santana commented that “The balance lies in the fact that everyone had space and it was one of the most concentrated chapters, multiple themes in 18 minutes.”

José Luis Palacios acknowledged that the television program today has more commercials and the company is monetizing the transmission, which is good, but he insisted that the actor who plays Lord Molecule is playing himself and he does not like it. “He represents you like him, but he does not represent you, he told me” I don’t like it, it bothers me, “he added.

He admitted that the show is nonetheless interesting, it’s a satire, it’s a joke, a very interesting, well-done interpretive criticism that doesn’t represent the characters as they are.

“Imagine Marcelo, that they put him for what he is, or that they represented Adán Augusto, not as a vampire, like Batman and Robin, but really what he is, each one of the characters does not represent him and they discredit you, you They denigrate, there I would recommend you, never sue, freedom of expression comes first, but as soon as you tell him, be you, no. If you are going to represent me, represent me, do not represent yourself, ”he insisted, as he has expressed on previous occasions.

I mentioned the Google survey, which finds an acceptance level of the program of 85 percent, among the people surveyed and I asked our specialist Roberto Rondero about the possibilities of El Privilegio de Mandar being broadcast on open television, to which he replied So:

“It is a good question and it is the doubt that has jumped the most to me this season, because if we did not have antecedents, well, we would say here there are problems, obviously commercial, or political, but Televisa has already broadcast it in two seasons, since 2005, we are talking about 17 years, so it is not something new.

blank

Obviously the whole way of watching television has changed, streaming has taken over many circumstances and now they have found this space, especially for new audiences, I believe that this is also the first time that El Privilegio de Mandar enters an area that It was like a certain restriction for open television.

I think that Televisa also wants to explore other audiences, that is, younger people, people who communicate in a different way, people who want a program quickly from the place they want it and not through a comedy bar, because Televisa It hasn’t stopped happening every day from Monday to Thursday, it’s happening at eleven at night. I wish they would have put it on that schedule, I would have liked it a lot, but, well, it is not ruled out.

blank

I agree with Saúl Santana in the observation that he highlighted in the sense that there is a divorce between television, the Mexican private television corporations and the Federal Government, but this is not the case with government television as is the case of the program Operación Mamut, that is broadcast on Channel Once, which is a phenomenon, and the character of Lord Molecula and the image of the President are also used there, and people wait for the program and watch it on their cell phones, and watch both programs, I have verified this in the subway.

Regarding this consideration, Professor Roberto Rondero said “the fact of having political openness is very valuable, what worries me is this tendency of public television to do this in a six-year term where many resources are needed; television is expensive, television is made with money, it is not done as it was done fifty years ago, where you could put a back of anything and put two, three lights and it was done.

blank

Television requires resources, I do feel that there has been a tendency for both channel 22 and channel 11 on this public television, because of allocating production resources to something like that, I am not against there being a political ingredient in the programs, but if I’m interested in them being well done, that’s where I differ a lot from that if you’re going to do something, that it be with resources, that it be something well done and there have been Operation Mammoth programs that frankly remind me of programs from forty years ago… and I remembered Cachirulo and Teatro Fantástico.

I think not anymore, because public television has made a great effort for many years to try, not only to compete, but to demonstrate that there are people with capacity, with quality, with experience.

blank

I would only ask for that, that if we go to those programs, that they feel like it, that they put money in it, that it is not a Toby Club to do whatever I can think of, but that public resources are being allocated ”.

Friends of Lord Molecula Oficial and of this great Media Alliance, we invite you to see our table of analysis of program 15 of El Privilegio de mandar complete, where the panelists talk about fundamental issues in the work of communicating, in the work of information, such as the role of the Directorate of Radio Television and Cinematography in supervising the contents of radio and television programs and the disappearance of the Certificate of Locution, which sought to guarantee that communicators had a more complete preparation to address audiences and whose disuse puts the issue of freedom of expression on the table.

blank

I would like to thank our colleague and friend Roberto Rondero for his words, referring to the character who plays me in El Privilegio de Mandar, Lord Molecula, and particularly towards me.

“I value a lot, above all, your attitude, it is something that strongly attracts my attention, because for less than this I have seen people who totally fall apart, become emotionally destabilized, make tremendous mistakes paying attention to their detractors, so, for me that is I liked you, that you have had that synchrony with yourself, that you accept all kinds of criticism and situations, because, let me tell you that it is not easy, it is not easy that from one moment to the next, especially on television, a character based on you, it is not easy, above all, because of what is said, how it is done and so on.

blank

I think that taking it like this is the best attitude, because you are finally being taken into account and that is so difficult right now because most of them are irrelevant…

Second is that taking it like this, I come back to the same thing, you have to take it for what it is, it is a political satire, it is a comedy program, of laughter, we cannot take it any other way. I have known Lalo España for a long time, he seems to me like one of the actors who have also been fighting from below, he is not spared from this situation, he has also suffered a lot from this type of bullying, pressure, disadvantages when it comes to compete with other types of actors, but it seems to me a person who has managed to overcome and the truth has you there, but super localized, no, already in the last chapter even the looks, the laughs, you can see that he spends his time studying you really a lot.

blank

I always tell my students that to criticize you have to assess in light of reason, it’s nothing more than I like it, I don’t like it or I like this one, I don’t like this one, you have to value it with reason, with documentation, it is an exercise that requires journalists, I think I am pleased to see this program in the sense that it is good that there is an opening”.
