The Lost City (2022). Film Review

The lost City (Lost City) is an adventure comedy starring Sandra Bullock Y channing tatum. It has the interventions of Daniel Radcliffe and the very Brad Pitt. It is directed by Aaron Y Adam Nee.

A fun and entertaining adventure movie, more of a comic strip than an action one.

Plot

A writer and the model who serves her publications find themselves involved in an adventure in The Lost City.

Movie review

A comedy that is born parodying the quintessential adventure film (In Search of the Lost Ark) and so on with Behind the Green Heart and many others, many others that make this film, original, have rather little. It doesn’t try to hide it at all, and is conceived as a children’s session movie or to watch relaxed in the armchair, in which we can pay attention to other things without missing much.

Pure parody in which the actors seem to be having a great time (except probably the protagonist). The best: Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt (who only appears for five minutes but is hilarious). The muscular American actor wastes no time or hides anything to show him shirtless and justify it in the worst possible way so that the viewer realizes: this is not serious.

However, it is a film that we save (by the hair, okay), with the heart. Nobody pretends anything and nobody is inspired, but it gives “good vibes” without being, at all, a good movie.

It has much more comedy than action and Mr. Channing Tatum knows how to make fun of himself and his status as a star-model.

Our opinion

Acceptable, no more. They didn’t feel like it, nor was this enough for much more. Or maybe yes, but no one had come here to do something big, just something fun to give you a few easy laughs.

Actors

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock has won the Oscar for Best Actress, the Golden Globe… she has done a lot of comedy, a lot of drama (especially lately) and she became known with Keanu Reeves for the movie Speed. He has many of those films that we will all remember as Gravity (beside George Clooney) either The Proposal.

Lately we have seen her in dramas made almost to her measure where she shines properly: Blind (2018) either Unforgivable (2021).

channing tatum

Channing Tatum is an actor, producer known for several action movies, as well as being named the sexiest man in the world a few years ago.

He has done many, like G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013).She’s the Man (2006), The Dilemma (2011), White House Down (2013), Foxcatcher (2014), The Hateful Eight (2015), Hail Caesar! (2016)Y Logan Lucky (2017).

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt He has gone from being the most handsome in the world meeting to being a good actor, with good movies like Fight clubof David Fincher either The Big Betin which he plays a former retired financial worker who shakes the system with two younger guys.

In private life, her marriage to Angelina Jolie and his notorious divorce (although a few days later he was already out there “partying”, how these celebrities suffer).

By the way, he is half atheist half agnostic, as he says: 20% atheist, 80% agnostic. Mathematical safety first.

We have recently seen him in the movie Tarantino Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood.

Other Criticisms

“Decent adventure comedy with a parodic tone. Don’t judge her by her poster, her trailer, and her looks; this is a decent film (…) it is impossible to charge against it because, deep down, it is sincere.” Javier Ocaña: El País newspaper

“’The Lost City’ gets carried away from minute one and never stops. He gets carried away on an exotic journey full of clichés that don’t bother (…) Score: ??? (out of 5)” Fausto Fernandez: Stills
