Why did Jorge Benavides and Carlos Álvarez get back together?
Given the various speculations about a possible collaboration, Carlos Alvarez clarified that he went to the channel’s facilities to promote one of his shows and it was there that he found himself by chance Jorge Benavidez.
“I have come to ATV to promote my show, to support children with cancer, but here I have met Jorge after a few years,” said the comedian.
Why did Jorge Benavides and Carlos Álvarez separate?
It was learned that the duo had prepared a sketch inspired by the program “La noche es mía”, which at that time was hosted by Carlos Carlín. In this segment, the discussion that the former figure of “Pataclaun” had with Phillip Butters was going to be characterized.
It transpired that the top managers of the channel censored said scene despite the fact that it was almost ready. This caused the inconvenience of Carlos Alvarezwho was removed days later.
Carlos Álvarez and JB: 5 unforgettable sketches of the funny ‘bromance’ of Peruvian TV
The ‘pitucas’ of La Molina
This sketch is not only remembered for the images of Jorge and Carlos dressed as two irreverent ladies, but also for the beating that the Chicken character received from Walter Ramírez —better known for his imitation of ‘Chorri’— and all the citizens of Ate on the other side of the fence.
‘Toledo’ and ‘Ilian’
Perhaps many Peruvians remember Alejandro Toledo and Eliane Karp for the parody they made of them in “El especial del humor”. The cry of the former president’s partner, “Alejaaandro!”, is to this day one of the most identifiable occurrences of the program.
Galan and Jorgito
The imitations of presidents were always the specialty of Álvarez and Benavides. Galan and Jorgito’s sketches could seem like just another humorous sequence of the program, but they also had behind them a kind of criticism of Peruvian society and its problems.
fuji and kenji
Although Carlos Álvarez did his Alberto Fujimori parody very well, JB always stole the sequence with his peculiar Kenji entrances to the rhythm of “Who cares?” of Thalia. The character has stayed with Benavides to this day and is one of his most recurrent.
Claudio and Autori
The soccer duos were also a recurring theme in “El especial del humor”. In this case, it was a secret romance between the parodies of former Peruvian national team member Claudio Pizarro and Brazilian coach Paulo Autuori.
