The #Iwantcorridor campaigndriven by the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs since 2016, to demand the construction of the mediterranean corridorhas thrown a ‘advertising spot parodying the continuous delays in the execution of the railway infrastructure. In the 20 seconds of the ad, a father and his daughter appear who are dedicated to “collect” the delays of the railway route.
“collect delays with the Mediterranean corridor, the railway infrastructure that everyone is waiting for but that arrives in installments. Would you like to know when the next installment is? Me too,” he claims in a voiceover.
According to the promoters of the campaign, the ‘spot’ is the work of After and Jakiens and want to remember the usual collectible ads from the 90s and 2000s and “follows the typical structure of those ads, well recognized by the collective imagination,” they explain.
In the case of the spot, a Corridor collectible with model trains is announced to mourn the countless delays that you are experiencing this infrastructure in all your tours.
“The Pieces Don’t Fit”
For this reason, during the announcement it is evident that the models that appear in the images are all started but also unfinished, generating chaos and frustration among the children who participate in the ‘spot’ (and their parents). “The pieces don’t fit,” a girl whimpers.
The ad ends with a reference to the website of the #QuieroCorredor initiativeso that it is signed so that the infrastructure is accelerated: “So that the nightmare ends. It is enough that we teasedon’t you think?”
