MÉRIDA, Yuc., November 20 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The inmates of the Social Reintegration Center will enjoy their “Mundialito Cereso 2022” that Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal began with the kickoff of this tournament that is a replica of the World Cup from Qatar.
In this “Mundialito” 32 teams participate, from the same number of countries that compete for the highest soccer trophy in the world, made up of the inmates of Cereso.
Some 500 inmates who will wear the jerseys of the participating teams, whose ages range from 18 to 60 years, as is the case of Víctor Manuel Rodríguez Kú who was in charge of taking the oath of fair play and sportsmanship.
The sports fair will take place from this Sunday until December 17, during which time 4 daily matches will be held from Monday to Sunday, an event that seeks to provide inmates with activities that help direct their energy in sports activities promoting healthy coexistence and values.
In the soccer field of Cereso de Mérida, the parade of the teams of the 32 nations represented, which are Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, the Netherlands, England, Iran, the United States, Wales, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland, was held. , France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia, Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia, Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon, Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea.
At the inaugural event, attendees enjoyed an artistic show with dance, acrobatics, and pyramids, as well as a parody in which they thanked the governor for applying sanitary measures so that this event is a reality today.
Likewise, the official theme of this 2022 edition was presented, which is a rap performed by Nano “El Zezontle”, with music by Pablo Milán.
Subsequently, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal greeted each of the teams that are part of the “Mundialito”, who thanked him for his actions during the pandemic, since they received the doses against Coronavirus on time.
The state president looked at the two commemorative murals for this sporting event painted by the “Sinancuch” collective, made up of inmates and people who have already been integrated into society, as well as graphic artists.
The mascot bears the name “Yuqatar” and was designed by a Cereso inmate; Likewise, the referees will be people from this community, who previously received training on the rules of the sport to be able to carry out this task.
The realization of this event in the Center for Social Reintegration of Mérida is a reflection of the security that prevails in Yucatán with indices that have stood out in the country, to the extent that in this prison in the Yucatecan capital it is possible that they can take carry out activities like this that are carried out with tranquility and peace that they enjoy at the same time with the visit of their families.
In this way, the government headed by Vila Dosal endorses its commitment to the entire state to continue transforming sports, promoting it to spread the enthusiasm of practicing sports that benefit the mind and body of Yucatecans.
