With regard to the derogation on luggage racks, he underlined that “The government granted the carriers’ request, establishing a transitional period of one year for the implementation of the measure. In the meantime, the luggage racks are limited to 50 cm for 7 and 8 seats and 70 cm for other passenger transport vehicles. he inquires.

On the obligation of modern technical visits to Dakar, “the government will find, with the agreement of the actors, a mechanism so that modern visits are carried out in the regions through the mobile benches. However, the program for erecting modern technical visit centers in other regions will be accelerated,” always reports Mansour Faye.

With regard to the duration of operation of public transport vehicles, “The decree has already been taken to extend the 20-year period for passengers and goods to 25 years from the date of first entry into circulation. By way of derogation, an additional operating period of 2 years has been granted to the transport of passengers and goods which have exceeded the fixed time limits”.

The government relies on the Highway Code for the request relating to the age of drivers. “On the ages of drivers, the provisions of the Highway Code are maintained, 23 years for large carriers and 25 years for passenger transport drivers”. For Mansour Faye, “it is in consideration of the results of this consultation, that the members of the Unitary Framework of Road Transport Unions of Senegal (CUSTRS) have decided not to follow the strike slogan decreed by the other actors”.
