“Riprendiamo…La Strada” is a multimedia show based on the comic parody of the famous film by Federico Fellini, starring Giulietta Masina and Antony Queen, winner of the Academy Award in 1956. In the story, drawn by the Venetian master Giorgio Cavazzano and published on the 1991 “Topolino” in homage to the great Italian director, the classic Disney characters: Minnie, Gambadilegno and Topolino, play the role of Gelsomina, Zampanò and the Fool.
The particular beauty of this Disney parody certainly lies in the fluid and original sign of Cavazzano but also in the development of the story which, at a certain point, detaches itself from the plot of the film ( melancholy and at times dramatic ) and takes a different direction, interweaving the dream with reality and mixing real situations and characters with the fantastic ones of the Disney world. For those who have never seen the film or even read the Mickey Mouse comic, this show is an opportunity to discover two fundamental works of Italian creativity but above all offers the opportunity to delve into the meticulous and original work of an author like Cavazzano who for many For years he has created stories for Mickey Mouse and Disney that have a unique character of originality, both in design (with an unmistakable style) and in content. This importance often escapes those who believe that comics, especially those with a large circulation and high quality like Mickey Mouse, are less effective than a good book or a good film.
“Riprendiamo…La Strada” is a “multimedia” show, made up of many contributions and different expressive languages on a common theme. Beyond the images there is the music which, for the occasion, has been composed and arranged by Paolo De Col, a refined and sensitive musician who performs live a soundtrack inspired both by the story drawn by Cavazzano and by Fellini’s films, having therefore as references the world of Disney and that of Nino Rota without however neglecting his personal originality as a contemporary Italian musician and author. Accompanied, on this occasion, by two formidable musicians such as Gian Paolo Todaro on guitar and Lorenzo Terminelli on percussion and keyboards.
Also on stage are two fantastic and likeable actors such as Giovanni Tiveron and Elisa Braido who tell the story and character of the comic characters with their voices, interpreting them with intensity and vitality. In the show (which is itinerant like a circus) the presence of a local musical band is foreseen, which is a bit the symbol of Fellini’s style and therefore there will be the special participation of the Città di Mogliano Veneto musical group directed by maestro Martino Pavan. To conclude, Maestro Giorgio Cavazzano’s greeting to the audience present in the hall as a tribute to ADVAR and his meritorious activity.
