Mola, the Christmas shopping voucher to support families against the crisis

MOLA DI BARI – “Il Buono di Natale” is underway: from last Tuesday to 6 January 2023, the citizens of Mola have 20 euro vouchers available which can be spent exclusively in the city’s shops (30 participating shops) to boost the economy venue and support families over the Christmas period. The initiative, supported with a loan of 30 thousand euros from the Municipality of Mola di Bari with the adhesion of the Duc (Urban District of Commerce), consists in the possibility, offered to consumers, of receiving a 10% discount on the displayed price tags to the public (with the exception of the winter sales period) as well as a 20 euro voucher following a minimum purchase of 40 euro.

Then, they will be able to spend the voucher received, validated by the operator’s stamp and signature, from another Mola di Bari merchant adhering to the initiative, again against a minimum purchase of 40 euros. The voucher, the Duc says, can only be used once. Mayor «I thank the commercial activities participating in the initiative – declares the mayor, Giuseppe Colonna -. This is an experimental initiative which we hope will be successful. The invitation we make is to support local trade, even more so in this historical moment». “We will accompany the voucher initiative with a series of cultural events and activities already taking place in the squares, streets and cultural places of our city – adds the deputy mayor, Angelo Rotolo – so that our city is increasingly attractive and full of opportunities ».

There are opticians, hairdressers, beauticians, perfumeries and wine bars among the participating businesses: Giampaolo Clothing, Arredi Store, Borgonovo, My Art Aesthetics, Campanile Clothing, Brunetti Parrucchieri, Maggie Boutique, Optometry Brunetti Optics, Iurino Optics, Opti Vision D’Alessandro, Echo Donna, Via Veneto 26 Clothing, Desiree Bimbi, GRG Informatica, Ssd Gymnica, Pietanza Uomo Vogue, Arte è Bimbi, Maglio, To make a book, Bloodylicious, Asattlab, Perfumery and clothing Giusy, Pasticceria dell’Arte, Il Vinologico, Trattoria -Fantasy Pizzeria».

The voucher system could prove useful. In fact, it is not a question of 30 thousand euros granted without a grant but of an initiative capable of generating a strong incentive for purchases in these days. The Christmas voucher is, however, one of the many initiatives promoted to meet the needs of families and operators who, in increasing numbers, are suffering the effects of the crisis and the soaring prices. Among the measures adopted to support and relaunch productive activities there are: extraordinary non-repayable contributions, the granting of public areas free of charge, the deferral of municipal taxes, support for leases, the payment of bills and school books. Caritas and parishes are also on the field.
