The Cervantes Theater lights the fuse with the best shows at the Valladolid Festival throughout the month of September – Valladolid Plural

As is customary for yet another year, the Cervantes Theater has prepared a September full of shows to celebrate the Fair and Festival of the Virgin of San Lorenzo. A gala program, for all tastes, which runs from September 2 to 18, where there will be no shortage of children’s and adult plays. The Cervantes Theater has worked very hard to achieve a great program for this start of the season and for the public to enjoy and escape with the magic of the live show. From musicals, flamenco, tributes to historical groups on the music scene, or even humor. Already in these first weeks of festivities, Marcos Mas and his monologue ‘Insatisfayer’ filled the Cervantes Theater with laughter on its opening day, while traditional music by the hand of ‘Aguadulce Habaneras’ made a journey through the best melodies.

‘La Familia Encanto’ presented in flesh and blood the protagonists of the most popular latest film success among children, while the audience was moved by the voice of Jhony Calleja, who, in the artist’s words, was grateful that “when someone enjoys a show live that bears my name, what always stands out is the elegance, generosity and strength in my voice». The songs from before with delicate and contradictory emotions with ‘El Trío Caracol’ yesterday.

This Tuesday from 8:30 p.m., arrives ‘El lando de six Caballos’, a work that recounts when happiness is found by making those around you happy, living in a world of fantasy, there is always the fear that everything ends when that illusion cannot be maintained. Already on the day of the patron saint, on Thursday 8 at 8:30 p.m., the Cervantes Theater receives ‘Recycling a famous’ with Aiana Iglesias, the Valladolid actress presents her audience with a performance that parodies current trends since the invasion of the coaches, until the saturation of the contents based on the nostalgia of the years. Without a doubt, a fun vision of the media world that invades today’s ‘pop culture’.

Already at the weekend, on Friday in a double session at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Maria Luisa Merlo arrives in Valladolid with her premiere ‘Intelligent Mentiras’, a crazy and hilarious comedy of marital secrets. For Saturday the 10th at 7:00 p.m., ‘La Revoltosa’ presents a one-act farce, with a libretto by José López Silva and Carlos Fernández Shaw, and music composed by maestro Ruperto Chapí. The libretto is a faithful reflection of the neighborhood environments of the end of the 19th century, making a faithful portrait of types and situations, due to two great expert librettists, José López Silva and Carlos Fernández Shaw, who transfer to the scene all the feelings and reality of Madrid in those years. Starting at 10 pm, it will be the turn for ‘Flamenco para todos’ with Soledad Luna.

The Cervantes Theater will close the Festival of La Virgen de San Lorenzo with one of the most energetic shows of the month, the Tribute to Queen from ‘Capitán Mercury’. Close your eyes and relive the universal anthems and powerful ballads that were played at packed macro-festivals and football stadiums in the 70s and 80s. Get emotional with ‘We Are the Champions’, sing ‘I Want to Break Free’, sing ‘We Will Rock You’ or ‘Bohemian Rhapsod’ and rock out to ‘Another One Bits The Dus’t. An exciting show that will take place at 6:30 p.m.

After this intensive marathon, the marvelous program of the Cervantes Theater does not end here. On Friday, September 16 at 9:00 p.m., ‘Flamenco de Ferias’ will bring together great figures from our land on stage for this tribute to the world of flamenco, such as Emilio Salas, Enrique Lozano ‘El Pescao’ and Carlos ‘Castañeta’ accompanied on guitar by José El Sevillano and Faustino Dueñas. Clauidine Ibarra’s dance group accompanied by Juan Carlos Sanz and on guitar by Carlos de Paz will show the art of flamenco dance, and as a guest artist for a magical night will be the master guitarist Antonio Carrión.

On Saturday the 17th at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., ZASCANDURI lands with its show ‘SOS Sonrisas Zas’, where Can and Duri will sing for us and teach us that recovering lost smiles is a challenge for everyone. On Sunday the 19th in a session at 8:00 p.m., Hilario Prados from Valladolid presents his new musical recital with which he distinguishes the passion that he imprints on each one of his performances. The first memories of his childhood are those of a humble family and his mother, happy, singing. The years of his youth and after his maturity have always been marked by the voices of what he calls ‘Ten’ singers.

Maty Gómez closes the program for the month on Friday the 23rd at 8:30 p.m., with her show ‘Las penas saber nadar’ within the framework of a theater festival, Greta sneaks behind the scenes and goes out to the public. The stage is the space that serves as a pretext for the interpreter to start a monologue that never ends.
