On May 2, 2025 it will be released in theaters Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and the writer chosen to write it shared his reaction on Twitter
Immediately after the announcement of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty At the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios announced that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton would direct the film.
And now, later at the D23 Expo this past weekend, the studio revealed that Rick and Morty’s Jeff Loveness, also a screenwriter for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania From 2023, he will be the writer of Avengers 5: Kang’s dynasty.
While Marvel fans shared their own reactions to the news, jeff loveness took to his official Twitter account to share his own response to the announcement mentioning a famous Avengers.
Reacting to the news that he had been cast in Avengers 5: Kang’s Dynasty, screenwriter Jeff Loveness joked on Twitter that Marvel “She will film it this weekend at my house.”
Shooting it this weekend at my place. Kyle forgot to charge the camera battery. Can you bring one? https://t.co/KnDeFfMhGK

“Shooting this weekend at my house. Kyle forgot to charge the camera battery. Can you bring one?”
Loveness followed up that joke with another and one that promised the role of Iron Man to whomever he brings. “a boom microphone” to filming at home:
“If you bring a boom microphone, you can be Iron Man”
But the jokes didn’t stop there. The Quantumania writer then posted a parody Spider-Man reboot video with the following caption:
“Do that with your friends. You never know”.
When the writer received a response to his query about the boom mic, Loveness asked if they could also “to be Moon Knight”. for shooting:
“Ok, great, thanks, and I’m sorry to ask, but could you be Moon Knight? Are you busy that day?
The writer continued to cast volunteers as Marvel characters on Twitter, with the next role being Paul Bettany’s Vision:
“Thanks Jamie, do you want to be Vision?”
The writer also posted clever scriptwriting suggestions he received, such as:
“’What drives the Blob now is social issues…’ – a truly fabulous line”
Then other Marvel peers started joining the Loveness thread, including Patton Oswalt who plays MODOK in Quatumania, and who also played Pip the Troll in The Eternals.
When Oswalt offered a lamp resembling a planet for the production of The Kang Dynasty, Loveness responded by casting him as Gambit:
“Perfect. You can be Gambit”
But Oswalt wasn’t the only member of the Marvel family to comment. The director himself Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania responded to Loveness’ parody video post with the following:
“I second this wisdom, @JeffLoveness. But it was really CSI: Miami: Horatio: Bloodlust that got you the job.”
Good signs for Ant-man 3
While Avengers 5 is still several years away, Loki on Disney+ confirmed that Kang was coming. In fact, Jonathan Majors’ Kang is set to appear in Quantumania; and the fact that Marvel has chosen the writer of Ant Man 3 to write Kang’s Dynasty bodes well for the 2023 film and Loveness’ take on the villain.
While Jeff Loveness’s Twitter thread following his D23 announcement was in jest, his references to various Marvel characters, including Iron Man, show that he’s well aware of how many integral characters he’ll have to write into the film.
However, the Iron Man reference could mean something else, as there is precedent for how Tony Stark could return in this movie.
While details and casting are being kept under wraps and Marvel Studios has multiple projects planned between now and that movie’s release, if it’s anything like Infinity War or Endgame, Loveness has a lot of work ahead of her.
