Back to TV: Mercato of the animators, new programs, program stops… What will the grids of the channels look like

Each year in September, the channels reorganize their schedule, stopping certain programs to promote new ones, and recruiting new faces to host their shows. A quick overview of what awaits viewers for this 2022/2023 school year.

The gates are closed. A few weeks before the start of the school year, TV has finished “preparing its briefcase” by filling up with new programs and animators.

A new football channel on Canal+

After the box full of Canal+ on the TV rights of football in the European cups, the encrypted channel decided to bring together all of its football offer on the same dedicated channel, Canal+ Foot. “We are therefore creating Canal+ Foot, integrated into the Sport pack, with all our football offer (L1, D1, Champions League, Europa League, Premier League) and a program at 8:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, Football Day, presented by Éric Besnard”, explained Thomas Sénécal, director of the sports department of Canal +, to L’Équipe.

On C8, Cyril Hanouna promises many changes. The success of its “Face à Baba” formula, tested during the presidential election last January, with more than 2 million viewers, will therefore be extended to the start of the 2022/2023 school year. “Face à Baba will come back once every two weeks as a bonus under a new formula. We will have several guests who have made the news, from the Prime Minister to the head of security at the Stade de France”, Cyril Hanouna told Le Parisien. On the other hand, “Balance your post”, the program of Eric Naulleau, will not be entitled to a season 5.

C8 also records the return of a former member of the house, since Jean-Marc Morandini, who left the 8th channel ten years ago, is making his comeback there. Now freed from his broadcasts on NRJ12, he will export his “Reunion” program there on C8, twice a week in the first part of the evening. On the return side, from Thursday September 8, at 9:15 p.m., viewers will be able to find “The most beautiful stories”, a compilation of the best moments from the cult show “There is only truth that counts!”, TF1’s 2000s show. which will again be presented by the duo Pascal Bataille and Laurent Fontaine.

THE END OF AN ERA on France Television

On the side of France Télévisions, the changes will be numerous.

We first note that Léa Salamé will remain alone at the controls of the Saturday talk show in the second part of the evening on France 2, a program until then entitled “We are live” and which she presented with Laurent Ruquier, and which is ‘will henceforth call ‘We can’t say anything more’. It was announced this summer that Christophe Dechavanne would be among the speakers.

Laurent Ruquier, he will host on Saturday in the first part of the evening a program provisionally entitled “Everything makes us sing”, in which he and his guests will revisit the news in the form of humorous songs. The host will also take control of a program based on archive images called “Today like yesterday”.

The return of France TV will also be marked by the return of Frédéric Lopez. The former animator of “Rendez-vous in unknown land” will present every Sunday afternoon on France 2 a program entitled “A Sunday in the countryside”. He thus takes over the schedule hitherto occupied by Michael Drucker and “Vivement dimanche”. The latter will pass from France 2 to France 3, always on Sunday, from 1:30 p.m. “It’s going to be a revisited ‘Vivement dimanche'”, according to comments reported by AFP.

Michel Drucker is not the only historical animator to be jostled. After 50 years on the air, the oldest PAF program, “Numbers and Letters” will no longer be broadcast daily on France 3 but on weekends. A change that allows Cyril Féraud to recover two new games: “100% logic” in the first part of the evening on France 2, and “Duels in families, the match of the regions”, on France 3 (instead of “Numbers and letters”). Present respectively for 36 and 47 years, the specialist in letters Arielle Boulin-Prat and her sidekick in numbers Bertrand Renard are leaving the game, Le Parisien announced on August 19. They will therefore not participate in the new formula.

Another major upheaval for France 3 regulars, on November 18, the very last episode of “More beautiful lifeafter 18 years on the air.

As for the novelties, we also note the arrival of the humorist Jarry, who will present every Sunday at the end of the afternoon “Rendez-vous chez Jarry” (provisional title), where he “will test the tricks that fascinated social networks”.

At France 5, Augustin Trapenard will replace Francois Busnel at the presentation of the literary program “La grande bookstore” on Wednesday evening, and Thomas Snegaroff will succeed Karim Rissouli at the head of the current affairs program “C politique” on Sunday.

Cooking and songs

Event on the entertainment side, the competition of amateur cooks MasterChef (formerly broadcast on TF1 then NT1) will soon arrive on France 2, presented by Agathe Lecaron, and with chefs Yves Camdeborde, Thierry Marx and Georgiana Viou on her jury.

The other big “event” of the next TV season will happen on the side of TF1 which, surfing on the wave of nostalgia, has decided to bring back to life its cult show “star Academy“, tele-hook which, launched 20 years ago, had revealed talents such as Grégory Lemarchal, Nolwenn Leroy or Jenifer. The program will return to its historic setting of the Château de Dammarie-lès-Lys (Seine-et-Marne) but will call on new teachers to coach young singers. As at the time, the program should be the subject of daily broadcasts and weekly prime times in the first part of the evening.

Note that Alessandra Sublet, leaving TF1 to devote herself to a career as an actress, it is Arthur who recovers the animation of the Grand competition and Hélène Mannarino that of “C Canteloup”.

Finally at M6, we will test new formats. After “Traitors“, a game launched in August, viewers will be able to discover a new concept around the romantic encounter entitled “Love at first sight at the end of the world”. In this show, five owners of guest houses living abroad will receive three suitors to share their daily lives and perhaps find what suits them.
