annie anger

1974. Annie, a worker and mother of two children, finds herself pregnant and decides to have an abortion, which is then illegal. She joins MLAC, the Movement for Abortion and Contraception Freedom, to help other women terminate their pregnancies. Subject until now to a patriarchal authority, Annie discovers a strength that she did not suspect, flourishes outside her home and invents a new life. Through the quest for freedom of this one woman, the director Blandine Lenoir illustrates the conquest of the freedom of all women and of one of their rights which still remains dangerously fragile today. Laura Calamy, caesarean for Antoinette in the Cevennes, is luminous in the role of Annie. The actress goes through all the emotions and touches our hearts with each of them.

Smoking makes you cough

On a forced vacation in the middle of nature to reunite, a group of superheroes called Tabac Force is about to face Lézardin, a new villain wishing to destroy the Earth. But before that, they listen to a scary little story by the fire… This burlesque and wacky film, a parody of Bioman and Tales from the Crypt, is saved only by its cast of choice and some awfully gory sequences.

Violent Night

Santa Claus really exists, and he is not happy! Especially when a commando takes hostage a wealthy American family, whose little girl is on the list of good children. Do not be fooled by the poster which makes him pass for a new Bad Santa, this Santa Claus is indeed the hero of a pure action film which crosses diehard and Mom I missed the plane. Violent, gently gore and above all very fun.

The Torrent

Lison, 18, stumbles upon a USB key that contains photos of her young stepmother with her lover. At the sight of these pictures, his father, Alexandre, becomes mad with rage and kicks his wife out. This anxiety-provoking thriller, set in the heart of the Vosges, follows a well-crafted plot which, through a father-daughter relationship, deals in particular with betrayal, a recurring theme in the director’s films.
