In his latest issue of ZDF Magazine Royales, Jan Böhmermann tackled the gaming world by parodying MontanaBlack for 30 minutes.
Cologne – Jan Böhmermann is known for venturing into the most diverse fields outside of television. Thus, the presenter from Bremen also found success as a rapper. In the September 16 edition of the ZDF Royal Magazine, Jan Böhmermann slipped into the role of a streamer. Specifically, he parodied MontanaBlack for 30 minutes. At the end of the show, Jan Böhmermann did not hold back his criticism of certain streamers.

MontanaBlack: Jan Böhmermann imitates the Twitch streamer in his own show
MontanaBlack Parody: Before the ZDF Magazine Royale broadcast on September 16, photos and videos of Jan Böhmermann dressed as MontanaBlack were already circulating on Twitter and the like. The host announced a livestream. The parody was to be an integral part of the show.
The attire was appropriate. Black cap pushed into the face, undershirt, gold chain and LED lights in the background. In this outfit, Jan Böhmermann reacted to his own show, in which first the queen’s death was discussed, and then microtransactions.
MontanaBlack: The Twitch streamer is frowning – Jan Böhmermann does not mince his words
The Dangers of Microtransactions: Much of the show is devoted to explaining the financial and addictive dangers of microtransactions. FIFA 22 is chosen as the perfect example. As Jan Böhmermann rightly shows his viewers, EA’s football sim releases every year on all platforms.
The Ultimate Team trading card mode is still integrated. Everyone can win the team of their dreams. But as Jan Böhmermann has shown, a large portion of gamers choose the faster route of microtransactions. The streamer that Jan Böhmermann parodies during the show is also one of them.
Every year, MontanaBlack again attracts attention by drawing the most powerful FUT cards in FIFA. The fact that the streamer on Twitch spends a lot of money takes a back seat. The replica of MontanaBlack’s room occupied by Böhmermann contains a FIFA 22 poster, but the most expensive team in FUT is Trymac’s.
The fact that we can never know exactly which FUT cards await us in the FIFA packs raises Jan Böhmermann’s dissatisfaction to unsuspected levels. At the end of his show, Jan Böhmermann once again addresses targeted criticism to certain Twitch streamers. He might have specifically targeted MontanaBlack. Oliver Pocher also criticized certain personalities in the middle.
“And if all that wasn’t enough, there are also a lot of assholes on Twitch who make loads of money for promoting the in-game gambling bullshit too. Assholes like him, for example!” Jan Böhmermann addressed that last sentence directly to his own parody of a Twitch streamer. Presumably the presenter would address similar words to the real MontanaBlack. The Twitch streamer himself has yet to react to this staging.
