An abyssal spleen, a claimed nihilism, lyrics chanted as if their lives depended on it, minimalist but abrasive instruments (guitar, bass, synth, drum machine): the group Gwendoline definitely has nothing of the young heroine of the same name, with blond curls and a naive smile, whose adventures some of us followed at the end of the 1980s in a Japanese cartoon. Between post-punk and cold-wave, these 2 boys from the west of France (Rennes and Nantes) have enough self-mockery and second degree to save themselves from despair. The result is a 1st album under high tension, “Après C’est Gobelet! “, which includes their hard-hitting “Audi RTT” and “Voldebière”. Don’t miss the live version!
