Semi-finalists of the last Trophée du Futur, the JDA Dijon Espoirs snatched a precious success against JL Bourg in the race for the top 7 (the 8th ticket being reserved for a Pro B team) while the Chorale de Roanne s came out narrowly against Élan Béarnais.
Besides the parody of basketball between the Metropolitans 92 and Cholet Basket, four other matches of the Espoirs championship were on the program. Tuesday, Rodney Rolle (16 points, 8 rebounds) and Nanterre put an end to four defeats in a row by overcoming Le Mans (74-70). The day after, Halvine Dzellat-Diakeno and ADA Blois rolled over Strasbourg (105-72), despite the efforts ofHugo Bonaton (22 points, 8 rebounds), and remain on eight wins in nine games.
Against a direct competitor for the qualification for the Trophée du Futur, the JDA Dijon was solid against the JL Bourg and won 87-83. A 7th success in 15 games that Élise Prodhomme’s proteges owe, in part, to Evan Gauthier (24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists for 25 rating).
Finally, the Chorale de Roanne continues to cling to the Cholet leader but had to work to overcome Pau-Lacq-Orthez (92-90). William Beugre Kassi (26 points) and Rollings Kamnda (14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists) were invaluable.
The results :
- Nanterre – Le Mans: 74-70
- ADA Blois – GIS Strasbourg: 105-72
- JDA Dijon – Bourg-en-Bresse: 87-83
- Roanne – Pau-Lacq-Orthez: 92-90
- Metropolitans 92 – Cholet Basket: 11-46
