Circulate one screenshot report a statement attributed to Liliana Segre regarding the No Vax. By sharing it, users believe the cited source is safe and reliable: it screenshot of a tweet from an account that is confused with that of the newspaper the Republicbut it is a “parody” account created in August 2022. The alleged “satirical” work resulted in further contempt for the senator for life, as in case from Ilaria Cucchi previously told by Open Fact-checking. The hoax is followed by another, conceived by the same author.

The double fake
On November 9, 2022, the same day that Liliana Segre declares of wanting to take legal action against those who offend and threaten her, the Twitter account “parody” publishes a new tweet where it reports a false declaration to deny the previous one:
Liliana Segre and the fake tweet scandal of the Repubbilca parody site. “They put fascist words in my mouth against novax. This is not satire, but lynching. They are the polar opposite of any fascist thought. They should be treated with castor oil. “
The quotes attributed to Liliana Segre are false, invented and spread by a Twitter account that misrepresents the name and uses their di Republic. In the case in question, as in the one concerning Ilaria Cucchi, satire is absent as it lacks irony and criticism for the purpose of raising awareness.
